more pink tinkerings
Almost a year to this day I posted on my issues with this H&M tropical pink pleated dress. At the time, I resolved the riddle with some minimal effort repurposing: A mere front-back switcheroo and tucking into a skirt did the trick. However, in the 363 days since, I've remained dissatisfied.
Only when I put my mind to the grind to conjure up a feminine look for my new studded boots did I find a shapeshifting solution worthy of both my wayward tastes and my Thirteen Ways of Looking at a Blackbird category. There really was no method to my madness; I just grabbed the neckties and started gathering fuchsia fabric, creating a slit to show the pale pink babydoll underneath.
I know from my previous post that this outfit went over well with many of you. As you can judge from these photos here, I was equally enamored of it. (Enthralling outfit => enthusiasm => major posing sesh!)

Wondrful solution for the dress! The outfit looks great.
Bravo...love it... reminds me of a dress that was on Nasty Gal Vintage's eBay and I missed out on it...

On the sotto boutique blog, for the first time ever, thesundaybest and tinland and dreamecho are comingling.
Thanks for giving us a closer look at the knotting- you've really made it the perfect dress, even if it wasn't that at first :)
And the dance poses, as always, I love...
Lady Coveted and Blue Floppy Hat: My pleasure.
TheSundayBest: Yes, I got the email! But haven't we kinda sorta mingled before? That is, if you count that post you did on couples fashion... There's you and Tinland together, with me listed as photo credit for LC and Jones. Also, there's that contemplation you did on career/fulfillment/future. You linked my fash+engineering post, while elaborating on your and Tinland's profession.
I love what you've done with the tying and knotting!
I've lurked your blog for a long time, but this is my first time commenting... I just love the way that you experiment with your clothes and wear them in unconventional ways. This outfit is just completely stunning. Thanks for making my day and being an inspiration for a while. :)
I heart this so much. Thanks for providing the tie detail on the dress -- it's amazing how you restructured it, and I think it looks soooo much cooler this way. You should send these pics to Forever 21. They'll probably recall the dress and resew it to match your new design.
what you've done with this dress is nothing short of a complete transformation. considering that you did this without scissors or needle/thread is amazing. and then the styling just raises this up to the highest level. BRAVA!!!
Elena: Welcome...to commenting here! Thanks for your thoughtful words; I sincerely appreciate them. :)
Sharon: Thank you, lady! But why would I send it back to the manufacturer so that they can make a buck (or many, i should say) off of my idea! ;) (It's H&M, BTW.)
editor: *bows gracefully*

Hello Dreamecho! What fantastic styling. I have passed on the studded boot love to Rosiepop - I'm hooked! (Doesn't take much to be fair) x
