the printing press: churning it out in monotype
Short and sweet this preamble shall run; the outfit concept you are about to witness is based on my earlier printing error (a misnomer, I now realize). The difference is that, in this iteration, each outfit is limited to a single print. Also, I've finally got a tripod courtesy of my sweetheart, and let me tell you it's nice to get back to doing timed photos (which I used to do with a makeshift rig during my blogging infancy). As you can see, I've compensated for the lack of verbiage with copious amounts of self-indulgent getting jiggy with it.
Stripes: Gap multi long-sleeve shirt, H&M purple/gold shirt, H&M blue/white corset, Wet Seal tan/navy tube top as skirt, Music Legs black/sheer thigh highs, Abaete for Payless pumps, F21 black "dagger" necklace.

Plaid: Second-hand red/white/other flannel dress, F21 grey/blue/other wiggle dress, H&M greyish-blue/white flannel, second-hand red/black boys blazer, Nine West black gladiator sandals, various gold chains.
Space-dye: Thrifted navy/grey/aqua airline (?) ruffle blouse, Esprit de Corps maroon/peach/other dress cut into tank top, UO cobalt blue/magenta knit jumper worn backwards ($4!), H&M grey/white skirt, multicolor leggings, UO grey suede wedges, H&M cobalt blue/metallic scarf.

Animal: H&M white/grey/black leopard bow blouse, F21 creme/brown/yellow cheetah sweater, F21 black/white zebra tunic, thrifted black/white giraffe skirt, black/white spacedye socks, Jeffrey Campbell white jazz shoes, F21 black/olive bow hat, H&M bow belt from pants.
Background images: Stripes, plaid 1, plaid 2, space-dye, animal 1, animal 2.

wow, the collage are just awesome. I love the matching background. Very cool. You're rocking these patterns!
i like your cute poses. nice collage pics. i really like your blog and your outfits.
random thing: i always read your name as "dream-cho" not "dream-echo" hehehe.
fierce gladiators - I'm definitely looking out for those at nine west!
I know how time consuming these projects take, from planning outfits to doing the dratted photoshop, so thanks for taking the effort! I enjoyed your "experimentation", so to speak.
Great pictures; and funky poses!
I love the fourth one down!
ur poses and the collages are amazing. And so is your collection of space dye, i didnt even know its got a name!!! amazing! me love.
Wowee, great collages! I like your layering and mixes... :D
Oooh I love all of these ensembles! And such fun poses =]
Dreamecho - As always, I love your creative take! My fave has to be the animal print at the bottom. I just bought a pair of shoes that (strangely) echo the mismatched zebra thing you've got going on.
Also, meant to tell you that I think the title of your previous post is adorable. K
in these pictures, you are just the cutest thing ever! love the themes. love the plaid blazer.
finally, crazy (crazier?) contortions!
i really really like the stripe and the space dye, but it broke my heart when i realized that the standout piece in the space dye outfit was an urban outfitters jumper, so i could never get it!
hehe, you pose a lot, have you ever thought of modeling?
I really like the way you work these pattern mixes! simply amazing!
This is so brilliant it hurts.
First off: WOW! You have a lot of clothes!
Second, great way to wear them! I would never have the guts to pull off monochromatic looks like these, but it definitely inspires me to try stripes with stripes, among other things.
And finally, your hair is so cute :)
wow!!!!!!
ok, the 5 point comment:
1. you are adorable
2. i love the stripe number the most
3. the space-dye jumper... amaziing
4. love your presentation
5. i love the stripe tights! soo cool!
Clearly these need to be animated...
OH.MY.GOD.LOOOOOVE.
And I also think that you should start doing outfit posts in video format. Cue music now.
Fruchtzwerg, Elisabeth, Vappu Aneri, She's Dressing Up: thank you so much!
Lloyda: wouldn't it be funny/cute if my name WAS "dream cho"? don't worry, you're not the only one who's done that.
Stephie: thanks so much for taking note of my efforts. get those gladiators, girl! you'll look so hot in them.
the_kitten: learning something new every day is good for the mind :)
K.Line: oh, i'm so glad you noticed the name of my previous post. if i can say this without any sort of over the top arrogance...i was very proud of my play on words ;)
editor: though it's not my goal to be cute, i really appreciate hearing that from you!
lc: stripes turned out to be my fave, though the animal outfit really got me happy and dancing. ahhh...the UO jumper, i got last year...in the bargain basement. scoooore!
ChiliLady: thanks! i've thought about it.
ambika: i should've given you sunglasses...
Neekoh: thanks so much! i'm glad i could inspire you and i'm sure you'll look fabulous in stripes-on-stripes.
Lady Coveted: wow!! thanks for acknowledging and appreciating my efforts...and the stripes were my fave too!
Thomas: you know, i thought about it for awhile (it was really fun clicking through my images really fast and watching myself "dance"), but i didn't want to send everyone into spasmodic shocks with too many things blinking on the screen.
Oh Lady E: i'm turning up the boom box now...
The first outfit with stripes is blowing my mind. I love it.
AWESOME outfits!! and i totally dig your poses...seems like your a dancer...??
I love these. They're completely mad and shouldn't work...but they do!
oh my, you've really outdone yourself this time!! this is beautiful.
The dancing poses are a distraction, but in a good way. It makes me feel like I should be getting up and joining in, but im not sure whether to mustle or jive so I guesse will reach comfortable compromise and justle 9oh god my joke are bad)
Anyway back to the fashion… what a delightful concept, its one of those nothing in halves kind of effect, just go full force and low and behold we have something someone who was listening to you describe it on the radio would think ‘what is this madness’ but on no it works so well. Each outfit has such a balance in the way you have layered each print, I don’t know if this was accidental but either way they are all wearable looks. I think my fav is the check, its so rocking and the sandals killed it.
On another note, I wish I had a tripod, I have a makeshift one in the form of my magazine shelf and that just is pityful. :)
Flying saucer recently did a funny post on the same tights you are wearing in the first pic:

hahah really nice!! :D
the first outfit is my fave, it reminds me the best assemble of Herve Leger!
brilliant! and as i scrolled down i could almost imagine you dancing to will smith's"gettin' jiggy with it" if you weren't already doing so :)
Well, these are just about the best and cutest things ever.
I love, love, LOVE the rhythm in these photos, and the sense of movement in time and emotion.
You may snap, but someone is going to snap you up and make you a media star.
beautiful pictures og the beatoful clothes! fy favourite is the one on the top!
My favourite is the plaid, but that's only because I have an inordinate amount of love for plaid and flannel- though it is a fantastically put-together outfit. And I love the dance poses- it's a good reminder that clothes are meant for us to have fun in :)
Fantastique.... and I felt the need to spell that the French way...don't ask me why!
How fabulous! I love the stripy and the plaid outfits. You endlessly amaze me!
and so i should clarify, not "cute" in a "cute" way, but rather absolutely utterly enjoyable!!
and the images just give me a happy feeling.
so fun! and bold, amazing, etc.
Lots of Character! I love ittt!
oh my. arnt you a such a good dancer? hahah
do i see you doing "walk like an egyptian" there?
love love love all the outfits.
I find wearing the same pattern so, so so difficult to pull off, yet every look you did is so wearable :D I'd be honored to swap links!
Those collages are wicked! My favourites are the animal print shots and the plaid shots.
oh my god, i'm so impressed how you can pull of looks like that. i would never be caught dead outside with two or let alone clashing prints like that. the craziest i've done was three different stripe widths, that's all. i'm soo boring. but you pull it so damn good. it looks so well together. i especially like the animal prints version. u rock. likey-likey.
I just found your blog through Catwalkqueen, and thought this post was inspirational. Can't wait to read your other posts!

Fashion Disciple: I love your sense of humor, and I love getting comments from you :) You explain things in such a fresh and descriptive way. Going "full force" is definitely my philosophy. Oh, and my old makeshift tripod was a stack of books :)

Bobble Bee: Thanks, lady! Stripes was my fave...and I'm definitely seeing the Herve Leger now that you point it out.

Suzanna: Oh, I'm so excited to get a comment from you! Thanks for noticing my efforts. But "media star"? That would be the day!
Blue Floppy Hat: Fashion is fun for sure :)
editor: the many meanings of "cute." ;)
A dreamer: Am I doing the egyptian? Hehe. It sure wasn't intentional! Thanks!
Mode Junkie: Thank you! It's just about giving it your best shot and not being afraid. Thee different stripe widths sounds pretty risque to me, though!
Jael Paris: Thanks for the heads up on Catwalkqueen, I didn't even know they linked me! Please do go through my archives in the meantime while I work on getting more posts up :)
whoops, i didn't finish that first line of people in my previous comment...
